“Le Royaume”, another awesome student film made at the French School Gobelins. Great designs, styles and animation. It feels like one of those independent anime films (can’t remember any right now) and its great! Every time I see one of these Gobelins shorts it amazes me.  They are always so unique and well done that it’s hard to believe they are student films. Great stuff!!!

Just finished this over the weekend. I’m not sure when I drew the sketch (either before or during the world cup) but I worked on it for the past two weeks just painting an hour every other night or whenever I felt like it. I enjoy soccer so hopefully this could be the start for more soccer related drawings. I used acrylics on a 12 x 12 canvas.

Went to check out Jeff Soto’s solo show on Saturday at Jonathan Levine Gallery. He is a painter from California and I actually have one of his books. I saw some pretty cool paintings and took some pictures to prove it.I don’t know if there is some deep meaning behind the paintings but all of them are colorful and fun to look at!! Too bad I didn’t get to say hi or ask him to sign my book, there were a lot of people around him and I got tired of waiting and left. Still it was really nice to finally see his paintings.

New sketches. Little by little I’ll add these and turn them into paintings.

I can’t wait to get this book!!! coming out in June I think.
I already own CFSL 1, 2 and 3 and they are all amazing.
Lots of great designs and artists ,known and unknown, most of the work are digitally created but there are paintings and sketches as well.
It has a mixture of character designs, background designs, illustrations and miscellaneous.
Great source for inspiration and great books to have!

Back to painting.

I made the blue one a while back but I wasn’t able to work on these for a some time.

Finished the green one last weekend and hopefully I can finish the other ones soon now that I’m not that busy.  They are all pretty small 8×8 canvases so once I’m done, I’ll try 4 more!!

Wednesday night went to check out Street Smart, a gallery show featuring a couple of artist that I like, James Jean and Jeff Soto.

These three paintings were the most interesting ones and they are huge! I’m glad I was able to see these cause most of Jean and Soto’s art are shown in the west coast.
