Cafe Sale Artbook 4

June 7, 2010

I can’t wait to get this book!!! coming out in June I think.
I already own CFSL 1, 2 and 3 and they are all amazing.
Lots of great designs and artists ,known and unknown, most of the work are digitally created but there are paintings and sketches as well.
It has a mixture of character designs, background designs, illustrations and miscellaneous.
Great source for inspiration and great books to have!

“Café Salé or CFSL is a web portal created for the French art community in 2002. It has over tens of thousands of members from different backgrounds, skill sets and interests. There are professionals as well as undiscovered talent.”

Small Paintings

June 2, 2010

Back to painting.

I made the blue one a while back but I wasn’t able to work on these for a some time.

Finished the green one last weekend and hopefully I can finish the other ones soon now that I’m not that busy.  They are all pretty small 8×8 canvases so once I’m done, I’ll try 4 more!!

Trailer for new Blue Sky animated feature “Rio”. Looks great and it’s set in Rio de Janeiro, awesome!! Tudo Bom Tudo Bem.

I saw this a while back. This was drawn on an ipad by Goro Fujita.
He is a 3D character animator and visual designer and used the ipad Alias Sketchbook version to draw this incredible painting.
Wow, if you can do this on an ipad what’s the point of having cintiqs.
Goro Fujita has more samples of his ipad drawings on his blog, Chapter-56.

New Books!!!

May 11, 2010

Joe Sorren and Nicolas Marlet’s books have arrived!!!!
Sorren’s book is a collection of his paintings in the last 10 years and Marlet’s sketchbook is full of his character designs (Marlet is the character designer for Kung Fu Panda and, How to train your dragon).
Both books are great!!!
Marlet’s sketchbook is a limited edition so I’m glad I got a copy before its sold out.
